A Letter from Our Chair and CEO
Minimizing Our Environmental Footprint
We continued to hold ourselves accountable for minimizing our environmental footprint, even as we brought significant new manufacturing capacity online. In 2025, we continued to reduce absolute emissions, which are down 42% across our operations since 2020, and we expanded the share of our electricity from renewable sources to nearly 80%.
Improving Lives and Communities
Our community engagement deepened in 2025, in existing locations and in new areas where we’ve expanded our manufacturing presence. Lilly employees gave more than 86,000 hours to causes near our sites as part of the Global Day of Service and other long-standing volunteer programs, and we donated nearly $30 million to support the Lilly Foundation in its philanthropic work in the communities where we live and operate.
Fostering a Thriving Workplace
Our people are the driving force behind our progress. In 2025, we invested in our employees through a range of pay and benefits programs and supported their growth in other ways, including access to a new AI-powered coaching platform designed to provide real-time, personalizedguidance tailored to an employee’s role, challenges, and aspirations. More broadly, we continued to reshore jobs and hire new graduates and experienced professionals in growing parts of our business, including our manufacturing organization.
Operating Ethically and Responsibly
How we conduct ourselves makes fulfilling our purpose possible. We are able to deliver for patients, our communities, the environment, and our people because we hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards across our business. In 2025, we strengthened how we govern our use of data and AI and established a refreshed privacy framework in response to a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. We also continued to invest in the systems and training that hold us to the standards our work demands, from near-universal completion of our annual Code of Business Conduct training to survey results showing employees feel safe to speak up.
As our company marks 150 years, we honor a legacy that generations of Lilly employees have built and grown in responsible and sustainable ways. With thanks to our 50,000 colleagues around the world and to all who partner with us in service of human health, we look forward to the work ahead.
My signature above affirms our company’s ongoing commitment and our intent to support and advance the United Nations Global Compact’s ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, in addition to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
